Dr Sivitra Sivarajan
Dr Sivitra Sivarajan is a collaborative clinician with expertise in DentalSleep Medicine and Orofacial Pain. She focuses on managing complexorofacial conditions, particularly sleep-disordered breathing such asobstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), working closely with sleep physicians,ENT specialists, and GPs to provide multidisciplinary care. She takes aholistic, functional approach, recognising the link between sleep andpain. Sivitra is experienced in long-term MAS therapy, including titrationand monitoring, and also uses Botulinum Toxin injections to managebruxism, TMD, and chronic facial pain.
Originally from Singapore, Dr Sivarajan began her academic journey inMelbourne, completing a Bachelor of Science at The University ofMelbourne. She later relocated to Perth, where she earned her Doctor ofDental Medicine (DMD) from The University of Western Australia.During her dental training, she co-authored a research article titled “AnAnalysis of the Timing and Materials Associated with Pulp DiseaseFollowing Restorative Dental Treatment”, which was published in theInternational Endodontic Journal.Her career began in Albany, WA, where she gained valuable experiencein regional dental care. Back in Perth, she worked across public andprivate sectors, building a versatile, patient-focused skillset. Over time,she developed a strong interest in sleep-related breathing disordersand chronic facial pain, prompting further postgraduate study.She completed a Master of Science in Medicine (Pain Management –Orofacial Pain) at The University of Sydney, with advanced training inassessing and managing facial pain, temporomandibular disorders, andsleep-disordered breathing from a dental perspective.Dr Sivarajan is an active member of the Australian Dental Associationand remains committed to professional development, regularlyattending national and international training in Dental Sleep Medicineand Orofacial Pain. Her practice combines clinical excellence withempathy, offering tailored care aligned with current research and bestpractices.
